CHAI Tea or GREEN TEA? Which has greater Health Benefits?

CHAI Tea or GREEN TEA? Which has greater Health Benefits? I know that green tea is good for you and has lots of major health benefits, but what about chai tea?

Specifically chai latte? It’s just so good I can’t keep my hands off it. But is it good for you at all? Does it have any health benefits like green tea does?
First off, Chai is not a type of tea in the same way that green is. Green, red, black tea all refer to the various oxidation stages of the leaves used. Chai tea is tea (usually black, but not necessarily) to which spices and sugar and sometimes milk or creamer have been added. Sometimes there is a fairly large amount of sugar/sweetener added to bring out the flavor, so you’ve lost some net health benefits there. With a chai latte, you have quite a bit of sugar/sweetener and milk/creamer added, which I agree definitely tastes good, but the combination of the sweetener and creamer counts against you.

To summarize, it certainly won’t hurt you, but you’re getting alot o tasty but unhealthy additives along with the tea. You still have some of the anti-oxidant benefits that come with black tea. But you definitely don’t have the same health benefits that green tea offers. My recommendation: Have one every so often if you like them, but cultivating a taste for green tea would be better for you!

Is Green Tea Good for the Heart?

Is Green Tea Good for the Heart?

According to recent health studies, yes it is beneficial to add green tea to your diet.  Why?  Aside from the myriad of other health benefits of green tea, it is able to help reduce the risk of a heart attack because it helps to open or widen the main artery that runs from the shoulder to the elbow area.  Within 30 minutes blood flow increases in the brachial artery by 4% which reduces risk from blood clots and enhances blood flow throughout the body. (According to a report in the European Journal of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation).

In his research, Dr. Nikolaos Alexopoulos proved this claim by using ultrasound on health volunteers after they drank green tea.  The tests showed how the artery opened and expanded by 4%.  There is a layer of cells called the endothelium,  that line the arteries and this special layer is what showed improvement after the consumption of the green tea.  This important research proves yet again the many health benefits of green tea

7 Reasons to Drink Green Tea and Can a 12 year old kid drink GREEN TEA?

7 Reasons to Drink Green Tea

The steady stream of good news about green tea is getting so hard to ignore that even java junkies are beginning to sip mugs of the deceptively delicate brew. You’d think the daily dose of disease-fighting, inflammation-squelching antioxidants–long linked with heart protection–would be enough incentive, but wait, there’s more! Lots more.

Several polyphenols – the potent antioxidants green tea’s famous for – seem to help keep cancer cells from gaining a foothold in the body, by discouraging their growth and then squelching the creation of new blood vessels that tumors need to thrive. Study after study has found that people who regularly drink green tea reduce their risk of breast, stomach, esophagus, colon, and/or prostate cancer.

Got a cut, scrape, or bite, and a little leftover green tea? Soak a cotton pad in it. The tea is a natural antiseptic that relieves itching and swelling. Try it on inflamed breakouts and blemishes, sunburns, even puffy eyelids. And that’s not all. In the lab, green tea helps block sun-triggered skin cancer, whether you drink it or apply it directly to the skin – which is why you’re seeing green tea in more and more sunscreens and moisturizers.

Having healthy blood pressure – meaning below 120/80 – is one thing. Keeping it that way is quite another. But people who sip just half a cup a day are almost 50 percent less likely to wind up with hypertension than non-drinkers. Credit goes to the polyphenols again (especially one known as ECGC). They help keep blood vessels from contracting and raising blood pressure.

Green tea may also keep the brain from turning fuzzy. Getting-up-there adults who drink at least two cups a day are half as likely to develop cognitive problems as those who drink less. Why? It appears that the tea’s big dose of antioxidants fights the free-radical damage to brain nerves seen in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

The younger and healthier your arteries are, the younger and healthier you are. So fight plaque build-up in your blood vessels, which ups the risk of heart disease and stroke, adds years to your biological age (or RealAge), and saps your energy too. How much green tea does this vital job take? About 10 ounces a day, which also deters your body from absorbing artery-clogging fat and cholesterol.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Turns out that green tea speeds up your body’s calorie-burning process (metabolism). In the ‘every-little-bit-counts’ department, this is good news!

I got this article from Yahoo Health or some category of Yahoos! I recently can’t remember it…… Can a 12 year old kid drinks GREEN TEA?  means rarely?? Please tell me how often? THANK YOU VERY MUCH, RABIA 🙂 actually I am12 & was very curious after reading this article…….but then I thought it can be injurious to me! Actually I still did not get what I want to know….. CAN A 12 YR KID DRINK GREEN TEA? IF SO, THEN HOW MANY TIMES A DAY, WEEK?

Does decaffeinated Green Tea have the same health benefits as regular Green Tea?

…? 🙂 Is there a difference besides the caffiene or does it hold the same health benefits as regular Green tea? WHO OUT THERE KNOWS?!

Let me first say something as fast as possible about decaf coffee. If you go to a health food store, you will see the best kind of natural decaf coffee—Swiss water decaf. Grocery store decaf uses chemicals, methylene chloride or ethyl acetate, to decaf the coffee. It is similar with tea.

To get maximum health benefits of green tea, you want to use the best way to decaf the tea. That can be done at home! See the links below. It will take a llittle patience to wade thru the crap and get down to the bottom of the Wikipedia page to find out about decaf green teas. If this is too complicated, buy some decaf SpecialTeas, which is good but uses a less pure decaf method. There is not too much caffeine in green tea. So you might want to drink some, just not at night. Be well. Green tea heals!

Microdermabrasion – Green Tea Facial ? Skin Care Questions

I have heard about a green tea facial and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about them? How much do they even and smooth out the texture of your face?

Also, has anyone had microdermabrasion? Do you think it’s safe and effective? I know its expensive and you have to do it multiple times but have there been any worst case scenarios like skin peeling off your face?

Also does anyone know any other effective remedy to cure light acne scarring, just to smooth the skin out? Nothing serious though. Something cheap and effective… even if its not cheap just something safe and effective.
